The Splotlands has been an iconic building in Cardiff for over 125 years.
Built in 1883, the name derives from the Welsh word Ysbald meaning dry spot in marshland, where the pub was built. One of the Splotlands’ claims to fame is that apparently there is a ghost called Matilda in the skittle alley!
As part of the vast property portfolio of S.A Brain & Company, the building has recently had an external face lift. Seren Contractors’ painting team was engaged to work on this well known and well loved building. So when you next drive past have a quick look and also check out the new signage which is also gracing the building.
